Emotional Well-being Programme (for children and young people)
The Emotional Well-being Programme addresses key areas in the well-being of children and young people, namely emotional intelligence, building self esteem, friendship, coping with stress and healthy well-being. The full programme is run as a residential placement although there is an option for day programmes, covering specific topics.
A typical day for this programme entails a mixture of sailing and activities (games, tasks, discussions) addressing key areas.
“Take the Helm”
This 5 day residential project is aimed at young people between the ages of 16-19 who are NEET (not in education, employment or training) young people, and is currently OPEN for applications. The purpose of this programme is to equip young people with additional and transferrable skills, thus supporting their transition into employment, education, training, apprenticeships or voluntary placements.
‘Take the Helm’ is delivered in an informal style, drawing on the latest research for the improvement of well-being, identifying barriers to progression, improving communication skills and achieving sustainable results.
Although the placement with Sea Sanctuary is only five days, the entire support package is spread over nine weeks (where necessary).
Sea Sanctuary is working with the CMN (Cornwall Marine Network) on this exciting project and they are partly responsible for ensuring the outcome are reached. The CMN can offer support in the latter stages of the programme and are very well versed in supporting young people in their development.
